Surface Preparation and Cleaning - By The Experts
Boats and Marine Applications
For use on hulls:- metal, wood, marine ply, ferro-concrete and fibreglass. |
The low pressure sand jet can be used on all hulls :- metal, wood, marine ply, ferro-concrete and fibreglass.
Osmosis and Anti-foul are easily dealt with.
Subsequent remedial work can be undertaken / arranged by us, for example Gel-peeling and vacuum osmosis treatments. We can also offer Zinga painting of keels.
The system produces a smooth finish that grit blasting or sanding / scraping by hand cannot compare with.
As for properties, external and internal work can be undertaken.
Boat Cleaning at Grimsby
(typically we completely sheet a boat to protect the marina, and surrounding boats - but this does not lead to informative photographs! - in this case we sheeted the only other boat in the marina!)

A (sheeted) motor boat |
Skylark, a teak workboat, also at Whitby. Antifoul removal and topside paint keying. |
Paint above the water is always considerably tougher than a below water layer as the sun bakes the paint to a hard layer. |
- The low pressures mean that the system is gentle enough to clean delicate surfaces, yet powerful enough to strip multiple layers of paint in one pass.
- It is not a chemical process so no noxious or harmful slurries or fumes are generated.
- As it uses only minimal amounts of water and abrasive the system is regularly used indoors.
- Considerably less mess than other systems, the low pressures mean that secondary mess (dust being blown out of floorboards etc) is also minimised.
- Has successfully cleaned stone, bricks, metal, hard woods and fibreglass. Quick efficient Graffiti Removal. No interference with other work in area.
- Additional services can be provided by the Ashrose Group, including Gel-coat peeling for Osmosis treatment of glass fibre boats.
